Vietnam Medical Association honours its outstanding intellectuals

The Vietnam Medical Association (VMA) held a ceremony in Hanoi on December 26 to honour 118 outstanding intellectuals from across the country.

The event saw the presence of Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.

The honourees have fulfilled the missions assigned by the VMA as well as contributed significantly to the development of the association over the past years.

They were Professors, Associate Professors, Doctors, Specialists level II and Masters of Nursing, who received one of the State-level insignias, including the Hero of the Armed Forces, the Labour Hero, People’s Doctor, People’s Teachers Meritorious Doctor and Meritorious Teacher.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Vu Minh, praised the outstanding achievements made by the VMA over the past years, while hailing Vietnamese doctors for their vital contributions to the development of the country’s medicine and the care for the people’s health.

The event also offered a great opportunity for the association to review its operation over the past years as well as discussed orientations to develop the country’s health sector on par with other countries in the region.
