According to Doctor Nguyen Tri Thuc, Director of Cho Ray Hospital, patient Li Ding is the most severe Covid-19 case recognised in Vietnam due to his old age and many background conditions including type II diabetes, high blood pressure, surgery for a right lung tumour and a stent-treated coronary artery disease.

Thanks to the rapid diagnosis, thorough isolation and an appropriate treatment regimen for the disease as well as efforts to treat and control the risks of existing diseases by the doctors and nurses, the Chinese patient has recovered their heath and could be discharged from the hospital, he added.

Li Ding expressed his sincere thanks to doctors and nurses in Cho Ray Hospital for their efforts and conscientiousness to treat him well.

A representative from the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City extended thanks to doctors, nurses and employees in Cho Ray Hospital for the successful treatment and the dedication of the Vietnamese doctors as well as the friendship of the Vietnamese Government to Chinese people during the difficult times.

Congratulating patient Li ding, Associate Professor Nguyen Truong Son, Deputy Minister of Health, affirmed that that was a commendable success of Vietnam in the prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic.

According to the Deputy Minister, Vietnam has confirmed 15 Covid-19 infection cases, including seven that have been discharged from hospitals and eight others who are in stable condition.

Earlier on February 4, Li Ding’s son, Li Zichao, was also discharged after showing negative test results for the virus.
