PM’s certificate of merit awarded to crew members on Vietnam Airlines flight to Wuhan

Authorised by the Prime Minister, Chairman of the Committee for State Capital Management at Enterprises Nguyen Hoang Anh presented the PM’s certificate of merit to the Vietnam Airline (VNA) crew who recently operated a flight to China’s Wuhan – the novel coronavirus epicenter – to bring home Vietnamese citizens, at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport on February 13.

The flight crew consisted of 15 members, including two specialists, three pilots, five flight attendants, two technicians and three ground staff, selected from nearly 100 VNA employees who volunteered for the mission.

In addition to the crew members on board, the flight was also carried out with the involvement of an on-ground team who closely monitored the flight to ensure everything went smoothly with the set plan.

Within nine hours, from the night of February 9 to the early morning of the following day, the VNA’s flight crew completed their assigned tasks, including bringing Chinese and Vietnamese citizens home and transporting medical equipment and supplies donated by the Vietnamese Government, the people of Vietnam, and the Vietnam Red Cross Society to the Government and people of China. Additionally, the flight donated medical goods from VNA to Chinese airlines

Concluding their journey, the flight crew returned home and are being isolated following the instructions of the Health Ministry, as well as receiving regular medical check-ups. At present, all the crew members are in stable health conditions.

On the occasion, the working team of the Committee for State Capital Management at Enterprises, led by Chairman Nguyen Hoang Anh, inspected the novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19) prevention and control work and evaluated the impacts of the epidemic on the business operations of VNA and Airports Corporation of Vietnam – JSC (ACV) at Noi Bai Airport.
