Japan’s authorities in some prefectures where people are confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) are providing multilingual information services, including in Vietnamese, to support foreigners visiting or living in the country.

The prefectures providing advisory information in Vietnamese language include Okinawa, Fukuoka, Osaka, Aichi, Nagano and Hokkaido.

Along with establishing these hotlines, the Japanese Government pays all hospital fees for coronavirus-infected victims, including foreigners visiting or living in the country.

The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare advises those who have body temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius and above in four consecutive days and symptoms of tiredness and short breath to contact with healthcare centres to get proper guidance.

Statistics showed that as of late June 2019, there were 371,755 Vietnamese people living in Japan.
