The team, headed by Deputy Minister Nguyen Truong Son, gathers 65 leaders, experts and doctors from the health ministry’s units and leading hospitals across the nation.
The team is tasked with strengthening the direction and implementation of anti-epidemic activities as well as the treatment of COVID-19 patients in Da Nang.
The ministry has also mobilised nearly 1,000 people, including leading experts from across the country, to serve the pandemic combat in the central coastal city.
In addition, the Ministry of Health has planned the implementation of the Prime Minister's direction on testing for all people returning from Da Nang in other localities.
Accordingly, all travellers returning from Da Nang when having flu, cough, fever, shortness of breath, or any signs of doubt should go to medical facilities to be consulted, examined and tested. The cost of testing will be covered by the health insurance agency.
The Ministry of Health has also mobilised leading hospitals to support Da Nang for testing labs to increase testing capacity to 7,000-8,000 samples a day.
Also, on Thursday evening, Da Nang decided to urgently build a field hospital at Tien Son Sports Palace. The local authorities required the Da Nang health sector continues to actively carry out COVID-19 testing on a large scale for all cases with suspected symptoms, while promptly detecting, isolating, localising and thoroughly handling any sources of infection.

Da Nang continues to implement measures to reduce pressure at isolated camps and health centres, as well as focusing on measures to treat and clean up outbreaks in Da Nang Hospital, Da Nang C Hospital and Da Nang Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Hospital.
Meanwhile, the city’s authorities also requested that, from 0:00 on July 31, all local construction works must halt operations until further notice, while temporarily suspending the reception of administrative procedures by organisations, individuals and enterprises at the centralised receiving and returning sections of the local administrative centres from 1 pm on July 30.
The Da Nang Youth Union and the Students' Union of Da Nang have presented necessities to students who are staying in hostels in the lockdown city.
On July 30, localities and units across the nation continued to implement urgent measures to prevent and control new COVID-19 outbreaks.

Hanoi Department of Health has sent an urgent document to local medical units and drug retail establishments, urging for strengthened measures in the early detection of people with symptoms of the disease. From July 30 to August 1, Hanoi will conduct rapid COVID-19 test for all local people who have returned from Da Nang from July 8 to 29. Positive cases after rapid tests, will be confirmed using the RT-PCR testing method with an accuracy of 100%. Testing of returnees from the central city is expected to be complete by August 2.
On July 30, Quang Tri Province established interdisciplinary teams to start medical examination at local quarantine posts set up at Quang Tri’s gateways, aiming to tighten the prevention of COVID-19 and minimise the risk of disease spread.
Other provinces of Vinh Phuc, Quang Binh, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Binh Thuan and Dong Thap have also carried out measures to trace returnees from Da Nang and other localities hit by the pandemic for quarantine and testing.
