Virtual programme spreads message of love to families amid COVID-19 pandemic

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) has held a virtual programme entitled “A Family Day of Love” on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Vietnamese Family Day (June 28, 2001 - 2021) and the National Action Month on domestic violence prevention and control.

In her opening speech, Member of the Party Central Committee and VWU President Ha Thi Nga emphasised the event creates a chance for families to share and spread love and responsibility to help each other overcome the COVID pandemic together, as well as foster more potential for happy families nationwide.

As a representative organisation protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women from all walks of life, the VWU always identifies that the work of advocating and supporting women in building a prosperous, progressive, happy and civilised family is one of the most key tasks, she noted.

She added that the Presidium of the VWU Central Committee has actively promoted a positive direction, with a focus on investing in research, assessing needs, proposing and getting approval from the Prime Minister on projects on supporting women and addressing issues related to women, towards building happy and sustainable families in societies.

Within the framework of the program, a seminar on the topic “Vietnamese family - Keeping the fire of love, overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic together” has seen the participation of famous experts and artists, providing useful information, knowledge and skills on how to keep families safe and happy amid the pandemic.
