PM urges for quick repelling of COVID-19 to soon bring back normality

The Government Office has issued a notice regarding the conclusion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at a recent online meeting on the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Accordingly, the PM emphasised three goals of preventing, controlling and quickly repelling the epidemic to stabilise the situation soon and bring the country to a normal state; while ensuring the dual goals of both epidemic prevention and control to protect people's health and ensure conditions for production and business operation; as well as maintaining production and business to have resources for epidemic prevention and control and to serve the people.

The PM urged for a focus on supporting epidemic-hit localities, first of all Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh and Binh Duong, to successfully stamp out the epidemic, while paying special attention to the goal of preventing the epidemic from spreading to industrial parks and hospitals.

PM Chinh requested to continue to strictly implement the "5K + vaccines" motto and actively research and apply technology in epidemic prevention and control.

He asked the Ministry of Health continues to improve conditions, standards and procedures for home medical isolation, saying that rapid testing, early detection and timely isolation and blockade are the keys to successful epidemic suppression.

The PM requested access to diverse COVID-19 vaccine sources, with promoting the negotiations to purchase vaccines as quickly and as possible, while reducing administrative procedures in emergency conditions to promote faster the receipt of technology transfer, production and trials for home-made vaccines and soon have final products to serve the people.

The PM assigned the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to continue promoting and proposing policies to support workers and employers facing difficulties due to the impact of the epidemic.

He asked for the continuous promotion of production and business operation, particularly without disrupting production and business chains in industrial parks, export processing zones, service establishments or activities related to the livelihoods of the people in epidemic-hit areas.
