Vietnam receives Cambodia’s medical supplies for COVID-19 fight

The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on July 19 to receive a shipment of medical supplies donated by the Cambodian Government and people to help the city’s fight against COVID-19.

At the event, Secretary of State from the Ministry of Health of Cambodia Youk Sambath presented 1 million medical face msasks, 100,000 N95 face masks, 100 five-litre oxygen concentrators, and cash worth US$200,000 to the Ho Chi Minh City authorities.

Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Duong Anh Duc conveyed his thanks to Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hunsen, the Royal Government and people of Cambodia for their prompt support in the COVID-19 fight in Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

He pledged the city’s authorities will try their best to preserve and promote bilateral relations between Vietnam and Cambodia.

For her part, Youk Sambath said that amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the mutual support between the two countries vividly illustrates their close and strong sense of neighbourliness.

She expressed her belief that the traditional friendship and solidarity between Cambodia and Vietnam will be further consolidated and tightened in the interests of people in the two countries, contributing to peace, security and development in the region and the world at large.
