Nhan Dan Newspaper presents VND200 million to support students affected by COVID-19

Nhan Dan Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh presented VND200 million to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (under Vietnam National University, Hanoi) on August 2, with the aim to support its students who are facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Minh, who is also a member of the Party Central Committee, presented the gift to Professor, Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, the university’s rector.

At the handover ceremony, Minh stated that for nearly two years, the epidemic has been affecting multiple different subjects in society, including university students, with many of them being from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities who are currently stuck in Hanoi during the current social distancing period.

On behalf of leaders, officials and reporters at Nhan Dan Newspaper, Minh expressed his sympathy with the university and its students’ difficulties. He also expressed his hope that the gift would help the students overcome difficulties in the coming time.

Receiving the financial support, Tuan said that there are more than 1,000 students from his university who are facing difficulties during the implementation of the strict social distancing order.

Sharing that the timely support from Nhan Dan Newspaper is a warm gesture that deserves respect, Tuan pledged to promptly transfer the financial support to students in need.

On the occasion, journalism alumni from the university’s School of Journalism and Communication who are working at Nhan Dan Newspaper presented VND30 million to support the institute's students affected by COVID-19.

* Through the Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Nhan Dan Newspaper continued to present VND300 million to support local people who are facing difficulties due to the influence of the pandemic.On the occasion, journalism alumni from the university’s School of Journalism and Communication who are working at Nhan Dan Newspaper presented VND30 million to support the institute's students affected by COVID-19.
