The Vietnamese Fatherland Front (VFF) has called on religious organisations in Vietnam to continue helping with the common effort to curb the spread of COVID-19.

In a document released on August 3, the VFF spoke highly of the contributions of religions in philanthropic activities aimed at helping people affected by the virus.

In particular, many religions had their members volunteer and join the frontline or have registered for their places of worship to be used as quarantine facilities and field hospitals for COVID-19 patients.

The VFF asked its local chapters to step up their communication work to enhance the awareness of the danger of the epidemic and prevention skills for religious leaders and adherents.

Religious organisations were also required to encourage their members to make health declarations and register for vaccination.

The Fatherland Front also appealed to religions to continue their charitable activities, especially in terms of manual workers and other vulnerable people, who are struggling due to the pandemic.
