The council is comprised of leading independent experts in the health and medicine sector who are not directly affiliated with any government agencies on pharmaceuticals, led by former deputy health minister Le Van Truyen.

The results of the phase 3a mid-term clinical trial of the home-grown vaccine was already approved by an ethics committee.

Data reported by the company shows that the vaccine is safe and is able to generate immune response.

According to the latest guidelines, a domestic vaccine may be authorised for emergency use if the phase 3a mid-term evaluation on safety and immunogenicity is approved.

Nano Covax has been developed based on recombinant protein technology and is the first domestic vaccine to enter late-stage trials.
