The Sub-Committee for Social Mobilisation under the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control held a conference in Hanoi on September 10 to implement another campaign calling for more donations for epidemic prevention and control.

According to President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien, the sub-committee will also mobilise enterprises, organisations and individuals to give assistance of agro-forestry-fishery products to people in blockaded and isolated areas as well as quarantine areas and hospitals set aside for treatment of COVID-19 patients.

The sub-committee will also launch a movement of humanitarian meals to support people who are living in difficulty due to the pandemic.

In order to continue effectively mobilising resources both at home and abroad, the sub-committee was asked to encourage people to respond to several major and specific programmes.

At the conference, the sub-committee also said that the mobilised donations will be used for the programme “Millions of solidarity gifts to support the southern people to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic”, the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund, the purchase of medical equipment, the assistance for frontline forces, and support for epidemic-hit localities.
