President asks Cu Chi to maintain 'green zone' COVID-free areas

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked the local authorities of Cu Chi district to protect its 'green zone' COVID-free areas in order to maintain socio-economic development.

The State leader made the request at a meeting with voters in Ho Chi Minh City’s Cu Chi district, held on October 11in both face-to-face and online format to connect 20 communes in the district.

He complimented Cu Chi district’s authorities due to their practical and drastic measures to attract people’s full participation in COVID-19 prevention and control, thus contributing to reducing the number of infection cases and fatalities.

He also applauded the district for mobilising all available resources to effectively fight against the pandemic, making it, together with district 7, the first two districts to basically bring COVID-19 under control in Ho Chi Minh City.

As ‘5K + vaccine’ principle is the key to safely adapting to COVID-19, and he asked Cu Chi district to speed up its vaccination programme.

He also called for more action to support businesses to resume production and business activity while taking care of policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged households during the pandemic.
