Activities mark Vietnam Youth Federation's 65th anniversary

The Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) Central Committee launched the “I love my Fatherland” movement on October 15 to celebrate the 65th anniversary of its traditional day.

The event aims to call on young people to make every effort and further contribute to helping Vietnam win the fight against COVID-19, bringing the country back to a new normal.

Speaking at the event, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and Chairman of the VYF Nguyen Ngoc Luong affirmed that under the leadership of the Party and the Youth Union, the VYF has constantly grown in size and quality, now with nearly 10 million members.

Collective members of the Federation such as the Vietnam Students’ Association, the Vietnam Young Physicians’ Association, the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs’ Association, the Club of Youths with Disabilities, the Club of Young Vietnamese Artists, etc. have been developed, consolidated and expanded, he added.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs’ Association in coordination with the Vietnam Young Physicians’ Association and the relevant units launched a programme to support 650 children who are now orphans due to the COVID-19 epidemic until they reach the age of 18.

In addition, 65 outstanding VYF members were honoured with “October 15” awards while 65 outstanding young people received the “Youth living a beautiful life” award.
