Over VND20.8 trillion donated to fight against COVID-19 pandemic

Over VND20.87 trillion (US$918 million) has been donated to the country’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic from May 1, 2021 to October 23, 2021 through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC), members of the VFFCC and the COVID-19 vaccine fund, announced the VFFCC on October 23.

Of the total, over VND12 trillion was donated through VFFCC and its members while an additional VND8.7 trillion was donated to the COVID-19 vaccine fund.

About VND17.8 trillion, which accounted for 85.5% of the total donated amount, was used to buy COVID-19 vaccines, medical supplies and present gifts to people affected by the pandemic.

The VFFCC and its members will continue to allocate donated resources to the pandemic prevention and control and assist affected people to overcome their difficulties.

The VFFCC will also mobilise and call on enterprises, organisations and individuals to contribute to the COVID-19 vaccine fund through online payment solutions such as Payoo, MoMo, Zalo Pay and others.
