COVID-19: New cases on October 26 top 3,595

Vietnam recorded 3,595 cases of COVID-19 on October 26, including 3 imported cases, according to the Ministry of Health.

Ho Chi Minh City still recorded the highest number of infections with 783, followed by neighbouring Binh Duong province with 528 and Dong Nai province with 481.

The national tally now stands at 896,174.

According to the Ministry of Health’s report, 2,722 patients nationwide are in serious conditions, with 329 requiring invasive ventilation and 17 on life support (ECMO).

On the day, the country saw 64 deaths from the disease. The death toll now hits 21,802.

A further 2,989 patients were given the all-clear, taking the total number of recoveries to 810,290.

By October 25, the country had injected over 74.95 million doses of vaccines to date, with more than 21.82 million people now fully inoculated.
