Programme honours 50 teachers with effective teaching practices

The Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) held a programme in Hanoi on November 20 to honour 50 teachers with effective teaching practices and initiatives to help their students maintain learning in the context of natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The honourees were presented with saving books, worth 10 million VND each, and certificates of merit from the VYF. They were selected from 116 nominees from 57 cities and provinces.

Addressing the event, VYF President cum Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee Nguyen Ngoc Luong stated that the 50 honouring teachers are shining examples for their students to follow.

He hailed that despite their difference in age, the teachers share a common love and dedication to their teaching career and the determination to overcome difficult working conditions and the complicated developments of COVID-19.

The programme was co-organised by the VYF, the Ministry of Education and Training, and Thien Long Group. Over its six editions, it has honoured a total of 340 teachers who have overcome difficult working conditions in disadvantaged areas to cultivate knowledge among students with disabilities and those of ethnic minority groups.
