Vietnam Airlines safely transports 1.5 million vaccine doses from Japan

A batch of 1.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine provided by Japan to Vietnam was transported safely from Tokyo to Hanoi by the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines.

The vaccines were transported on a wide-body Boeing 787. After landing, the vaccines were quickly handed over to medical authorities to serve pandemic prevention work.

Japan is one of the top important destinations in Asia of Vietnam Airlines. During the pandemic, the carrier has made efforts to maintain flights to Japan to carry citizens, experts, workers and students, as well as cargos.

At present, Vietnam Airlines operates direct flights from Hanoi to Tokyo every Thursday and Sunday, and from Ho Chi Minh City to Tokyo every Tuesday.

The airline is also getting prepared to transport international passengers from Tokyo to Vietnam after receiving approval from management authorities.
