Earlier this month Binnopharm and the Russian Direct Investment Fund signed a memorandum of understanding with Vietnam’s T&T Group on the transfer of production technology and the formation of a research centre and facility with full processing capabilities of Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine production in Vietnam.

Binnopharm Chairman Dmitry Zubov told a Nhan Dan correspondent that it will take about eight months to set up a manufacturing facility, adding that the most important phase is human resources training.

He stated that in addition to the Sputnik V vaccine, the technology that Russia transfers to Vietnam will also be used to produce COVID-19 treatment drugs and other pharmaceutical products.

“We will not only build a manufacturing plant, but also cooperate in research to find out the most effective drugs. We are willing to listen to the Vietnamese side’s experience”, emphasised Dmitry Zubov.

The Binnopharm leader stated that the company is in discussion with Vietnam, to consider the Sputnik Light vaccine, for the third booster shot to be administered to the Vietnamese people.
