At the programme, the organising board presented scholarships to 130 orphans due to the COVID-19 pandemic, from 17 localities around the country.

Addressing the event, former Vice President Truong My Hoa, who is also a former member of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the “For beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa” Club said this was one of the activities to review the operation of the fund and club in 2021.

Despite the impacts of the pandemic last year, the businesses and donors made great contributions of nearly 65 billion in total to the fund.

As a result, nearly 7,000 scholarships were presented to students who are living in difficult circumstances, in ethnic minority groups or seas and islands around the country.

The projects to support poor students continued to receive the companionship of many units, individuals and enterprises.

At the programme, 46 collectives and individuals gave their donations worth a total of over 53.2 billion VND to the Vu A Dinh Fund and the “For beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa” Club.

On the occasion, 25 collectives and nine individuals received the certificates of merit from the Ho Chi Minh Youth Central Committee; meanwhile, four others were presented the certificates of merit from the Naval High Command.
