The inauguration ceremony was also attended by leaders of Quang Nam Province and Da Nang City, along with heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the people’s armed forces, and family members of the fallen soldiers.

Located inside the village’s cultural house, the stele features the names of 96 fallen soldiers who laid down their lives for the struggle for national liberation.

Speaking at the event, President Phuc expressed his sympathy for the loss of the families of fallen soldiers and revolutionary contributors in Que Phu Commune and Huong Que Nam Village in particular.

He stressed that the inauguration of the memorial stele shows gratitude to those who have sacrificed their lives for the Fatherland, thus contributing to educating the country's heroic tradition for the younger generations.

The State leader spoke highly of the positive changes and economic achievements seen in the locality, and asked the local authorities to work harder to improve the people’s living conditions.

He also called for local people to make further contributions to the locality’s construction and development.

To mark the occasion of the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, President Phuc presented gifts to families of fallen soldiers in Huong Que Nam Village.
