Nhan Dan Newspaper presents books and Tet issues to island soldiers

Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper held a ceremony at its headquarters on January 14 to hand over books and the New Year (Tet) issue of Nhan Dan Newspaper to soldiers on duty on islands and in border areas across the country.

Editor in Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Communications and Education Commission cum Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Le Quoc Minh said that 2021 was a very special year with many difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Within the joint efforts of the country's press circle, Nhan Dan Newspaper has made many positive changes.

Nhan Dan Newspaper has continuously renewed its publications while expanding its approach not only to Party members but also to new readers, especially young people. “We think that such efforts will contribute to disseminating the guidelines and policies of the Party and State to a large number of people, true to the name of Nhan Dan (People),” Le Quoc Minh emphasised.

Minh noted that Nhan Dan Newspaper has still maintained a printing volume of about 300,000 copies of the Tet issue despite economic and pandemic difficulties.

With the support and companionship of leaders of provinces, cities, ministries, and enterprises, Nhan Dan donated 50,000 copies of the Tet issue to the Border Guard Command, the Navy Command, the Coast Guard Command, the Military Region 1 Command, the Military Region 2 Command, the Communications Command, and the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People's Army to send to the officers and soldiers on duty in remote islands and border areas across the country, Minh said.

On the occasion, Nhan Dan also presented soldiers with two books on Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, entitled “Strategic vision and nation’s will to rise” and “General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong with the affection of domestic people and international friends”.

On behalf of the sponsors, Dao Manh Trung, from the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, expressed his gratitude to Nhan Dan Newspaper for creating conditions for the group to contribute to improving the spiritual lives of soldiers in remote areas on the occasion of Tet.

The grant of Nhan Dan Tet issues to military units has become an annual event of the newspaper under the sponsorship of authorised agencies and enterprises.
