Tet gifts presented to policy beneficiaries nationwide

A delegation of the National Assembly (NA), led by NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai, visited and presented gifts to people in Tra Van A Village, Phuoc Kim Commune, Phuoc Son District, Quang Nam Province, to mark the occasion of the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.

Speaking at the event, NA Vice Chairman Hai reported that the Party, State and National Assembly have promulgated many policies and programmes to revive the country's economy in the post COVID-19 period and support people in mountainous areas.

He called on the authorities and people of Phuoc Son District to overcome difficulties and preserve and promote the revolutionary traditions as well as the cultural identity of the Gie Trieng ethnic group.

On the occasion, he delivered more than 70 gifts to locals in Phuoc Kim Commune, and presented more than 25 million VND to nursing centres for Agent Orange/dioxin victims and children with disabilities in Quang Nam Province.

* During his working visit to Khanh Hoa Province on January 15, NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh presented 200 Tet gifts, each worth 1.25 million VND, to needy workers in Suoi Dau Industrial Park.

He also saluted Vietnamese heroic mother Dang Thi Bich, war veteran Luong Duy Anh, gave gifts to patients at Khanh Hoa Provincial Tuberculosis Hospital and Lung Hospital, and presented scholarships to disadvantaged schoolchildren.

* The same day, the Dien Bien Provincial Border High Command in coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s chapter in Dien Bien Province held a gift-giving event to support 215 families of policy beneficiaries in Sin Chai Village, Na Hy Commune, Nam Po District.

Previously, soldiers at the Na Hy Border Post joined hands with Sin Chai villagers to make more than 500 chung (square glutinous rice) cakes as gifts for poor students in the village.

* Also yesterday, the Muong Lan Border Post in Pu Hao village, Muong Lan Commune, Sop Cop District, Son La Province, organised various activities to bring a joyful atmosphere to locals ahead of Tet festival.

The activities included the provision of free health check-ups and medicine, free haircut, and delivery of 46 gifts to poor local households and disadvantaged schoolchildren.
