The programme will be implemented in all 63 provinces and centrally-run cities from January 17 – 21, targeting ethnic minority people, those who have escaped poverty but do not have health insurance, people from near-poor households living just above the poverty line who have not participated in social and health insurance, people with difficult circumstances, and other disadvantaged groups.

The funding for the programme has been contributed by employees working in the social insurance sector.

Speaking at the programme's launch, General Director of VSS Nguyen The Manh said through the programme, the VSS hopes to spread the human and sharing spirit of social and health insurance policy in the community.

On the occasion, Manh presented 375 gifts to patients at 15 central hospitals in Hanoi.
