Vice President presents Tet gifts to needy people in Soc Trang

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited and presented Tet gifts to retired officials and disadvantaged people in Soc Trang Province on January 18.

The State official expressed her delight at positive changes in My Tu District, the locality in greatest difficultly in Soc Trang Province, particularly with the effective control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite difficulties in 2021, Soc Trang Province fulfilled 16 out of 23 socio-economic targets, including achieving positive growth and caring for policy beneficiary and disadvantaged people.

The Vice President also lauded My Tu for having effectively changed the structure of plants and animals towards growing high-quality rice and raising high added value animals.

On the occasion, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan presented 14 social houses and 750 gifts to Soc Trang Province with 14 social houses and 300 gifts granted to My Tu District.

The gifts, which are mobilised from various sources, were presented to policy beneficiary families, Agent Orange (AO) victims, needy households, and pandemic-hit people.

The Vice President also visited the family of 95-year-old Nguyen Hoang Kiet, a senior official with 75 years of Party membership in My Ty District,as well as the family of Major General Le Hoang Suong, with 60 years of Party membership in Chau Thanh District.
