Deputy PM Minh, who is also Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee and Chairman of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee, asked the Transport Ministry and aviation units, to seriously follow the Prime Minister’s directions under the Dispatch No.1725/CD-TTg, on ensuring traffic safety and order, during Tet and spring festival 2022, as travel demand will spike.

He also asked aviation units to popularise security, safety and COVID-19 prevention, while controlling regulations for passengers, including seriously punishing violations by individuals and organisations.

In addition, relevant units were also requested to review the process, check equipment, and devise a timely and effective response plan. This is for when there is a situation where someone or a passenger is infected with COVID-19 within the unit.

According to a report presented at the working session, in 2021, Noi Bai international airport served 108 flights, carrying Party and State leaders and countries’ statesmen to Vietnam. From January 1-19, 2022, it served 121 incoming foreign flights, with 16,843 passengers aboard, 179 of them tested positive to SARS-CoV02 and were transferred to quarantine and treatment facilities.
