The guidelines should be set out regarding the basis of safety, while meeting the people’s legitimate demand of travel.

According to Deputy Transport Minister Le Anh Tuan, the ministry has received a proposal from the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on waiving the requirements of testing for pilots and attendants on domestic flights.

It has also been proposed that the testing requirements should be scrapped for air passengers who are children under 12 years old.

Under temporary guidelines issued by the Transport Ministry, children under 12, who have not been fully vaccinated or have no certificate of recovery from COVID-19 within six months, will still need to present negative test results when boarding a flight.
