The writing contest received more than 200 entries in various forms of reportages, notes, and complimentary, focusing on the protection of national sovereignty, particularly for seas and islands, including the Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos.

The organising board selected 33 best entries for the final round and presented the first prize to Ha My for his article ‘La Thu Tu Truong Sa’ (A letter from Truong Sa). One-second, one third and two consolation prizes were also awarded to other entrants.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,000 entries were submitted to the photo contest on the national flag. The first prize went to a photo collection entitled ‘To Quoc Trong Trai Tim Nguoi Linh Mu Noi Xanh’ (Fatherland in the hearts of Vietnam's “blue beret” soldiers) by Nguyen Trung Truc.

One-second, one third and two consolation prizes were also presented for other outstanding photos of the contest.
