Hung Yen city expands administrative boundary

Nhan Dan Online - The northern city of Hung Yen held a ceremony on December 25 to announce the Government’s Resolution on the expansion of the city’s administrative boundary.

According the administrative boundary adjustment, Hung Yen city now includes five more communes, including Phu Cuong and Hung Cuong in Kim Dong district, as well as Phuong Chieu, Hoang Hanh and Tan Hung in Tien Lu district. The city’s total area is now nearly 7,200 hectares with a population of over 150,000 people. The administrative area comprises seven wards, 10 communes and the Pho Hien University cluster.

In order to become a second grade city in 2015, Hung Yen is building a socio-economic development plan which gives priority to trade, service, and tourism sectors.

The province aims to have an annual economic growth rate of 18%. Budget collection is expected to reach VND800 billion a year. Per capita income stands at VND45 million, while the number of poor households will drop by 1.5% per year.
