Covering an area of 38,000 square metres on Minh Khai street, Ha Long city, construction began in December 2010 with a total investment of nearly VND540 billion (US$25 million).
The new hospital can accommodate 200 beds and is equipped with state of the art medical equipment.
After its first month of operation, the hospital has provided check-ups and treatments for more than 2,000 patients, including many complicated cases.
Speaking at the inauguration, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee said that the establishment of the hospital illustrates the local authorities’ efforts to improve healthcare for local residents, particularly women and children. This new hospital will help to reduce the burden on exsiting hospitals operating in the same fields in Quang Ninh.
