It will be attended by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, together with former Director General of the World Trade Organisation Pascal Lamy, former United Nations Under-Secretary General Jayantha Dhanapala and former Singaporean Foreign Minister George Yeo as keynote speakers.

The event will seek ways to improve Vietnam’s multi-lateral external relations and its contributions to issues of shared concern, regionally and globally. The event is being held as the country is expected to undertake many international roles in the next 5-10 years.

Representatives from ministries, agencies and localities will have the opportunity to consult foreign experts on how to devise relevant policies in the context of global integration.

Participants will watch a clip reviewing Vietnam’s achievements in multi-lateral external relations in the last 30 years. They will also enjoy a display of photos featuring scores of tangible and intangible cultural heritages across the country as well as other cultural publications.

On the occasion, the Foreign Ministry and Vietnam’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host a round-table dialogue between local businesses and Pascal Lamy on the topic of multi-lateral trade commitments and opportunities and challenges facing Vietnamese enterprises.
