Hanoi announces transportation regulations for Nhat Tan bridge

The Hanoi Department of Transportation has announced regulations for people and vehicles crossing Nhat Tan bridge which will be open to the public on January 4.

Accordingly, vehicles can park at allocated places from the Xuan La-Ring Road 2 intersection to Nhat Tan bridge.

Vehicles from Yen Phu, Nghi Tam, Au Co, An Duong Vuong roads will follow An Duong Vuong road to access the bridge through the 1C route.

The Department prohibits pedestrians and animal-powered vehicles from passing over the bridge. Man-powered vehicles, bicycles and electric bikes are allowed to use the bridge from 22:00 to 5:00 in a regulated lane and are advised not to use the bridge when the wind speed is over level 6 (50-61km/h).

The suspension bridge over the Red River connects Phu Thuong (Tay Ho) and Vinh Ngoc (Dong Anh) with a total investment of VND13,626 billion (US$640 million). The bridge is a facelift for the capital, contributing to shortening the travel time between Noi Bai International Airport and the capital’s centre.
