Based on images from cameras sent to surveillance centres, traffic police can make prompt orders for dealing with traffic incidents. Vehicles violating traffic laws will also be recorded for penalties.

Since the beginning of implementing fines recorded through surveillance cameras, the number of traffic violations at intersections with mounted cameras dropped significantly.

From January 1 to March 11, Hanoi traffic police have discovered and handled 99 cases from images transferred to data centres.

It is expected that by the end of this year, all intersections throughout the city will be equipped with similar camera systems to ensure traffic safety.
