The approach road will have six lanes, including four lanes for motored vehicles, and allow cars to run at a maximum speed of 80km/hour. It has a total investment over VND930 billion (US$43.7 million) and will be built within 12 months.

Construction on the Bac Luan II bridge stated in last November. It is expected to complete in October this year.

The building of the Bac Luan bridge II was studied in 2006 under the Prime Minister’s instructions. Accordingly, Quang Ninh was assigned to cooperate with relevant agencies to work with the Chinese side to implement the project in line with current regulations.

In March 2012, an agreement on the construction of the bridge was inked by Vietnam and China. Once completed, the bridge is a mutually owned facility.

Together with the future Ha Long-Mong Cai expressway, the Bac Luan bridge II, with Vietnam’s total investment of over VND3. 36 trillion (US$16 million), will play an extremely important role in transportation and trade and tourism exchange between two localities and two countries.
