The accident on March 25 killed 13 workers and injured 28 others at the Taiwanese-invested Formosa steel complex project.
A failure of the hydraulic brake system in the scaffolding caused the 30m high structure to collapse, it was reported during a press conference in the locality on March 27.
Kim Hyung Sub, Deputy General Director of the project’s contractor Samsung C&T, has admitted his company was remiss in operating the scaffold at the site.
