Physician wins Asia Record for Vietnamese traditional medicine treatment

Physician Phung Tuan Giang, head of Tho Xuan Duong traditional medicine pharmacy has been awarded a certificate from the Asia Book of Records for effectively using Vietnamese traditional medicine to treat many patients around the world.

At the awards ceremony in Hanoi on March 29, Giang was also honoured with an honorary Doctorate Degree conferred by the World Records University and the World Creativity Golden Disc by the World Creativity Science Academy.

Tho Xuan Duong has long been known for Vietnamese traditional medicine treatment and was honoured by the Vietnam Record Book Centre with the record for Vietnam’s oldest traditional medicine pharmacy with a nearly 400 year long history.

Giang and his colleagues have developed effective Vietnamese traditional medicine therapies for treatment of difficult-to-treat diseases such as cancer, asthma, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, scleroderma, and epilepsy.

The 1974 born physician has provided treatment to more than 150,000 patients in 102 countries around the globe, bringing the value of Vietnamese traditional medicine to international arena.

In addition, Giang and Tho Xuan Duong pharmacy also develop herbal farming areas to conserve valuable medicinal herbs, control the quality of drugs and provide efficient, cost-effective treatment.
