Debris of Su-22 fighter jets found

One engine and a wing have been found in the search for two Su 22 fighter jets that went missing during a training session near Phu Quy island, central province of Binh Thuan on April 16.

The Russian-made Su-22 from the Vietnam Air and Air Defence Force’s Air Division took off from Thanh Son Military Airport in Ninh Thuan province on the morning of April 16 and lost contact a few hours later. The two pilots remained unaccounted-for.

The search and rescue is still underway.
