The launching ceremony for the programme was held in Hanoi on June 22 by the Editorial Board of the Communist Review, the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) Central Committee and the Ministry of Science and Technology.

A contest with the same name will be held in the programme’s first phase from June to September, with entries in the fields of education, health, transport, science and technology, tourism, environmental protection, new-style rural area building, and development support in remote areas.

The organising committee will also hold seminars to share community initiatives from domestic and international organisations underway in Vietnam, as well as a community initiative transaction floor aiming to introduce the projects and initiatives to enterprises.

The second phase of the programme, from October to December, will see three to five community initiatives selected to be developed into feasible projects.

Vu Van Ha, deputy editor-in-chief of the Communist Review, said that a “bank of initiatives” will be built based on the feasible ideas collected from the contest so that they can be implemented by enterprises and organisations.
