Quang Ninh: Nearly VND2 trillion upgrading Highway 18’s Ha Long-Mong Duong section

A ground-breaking ceremony was held in Cam Pha city, in northern Ha Long province on September 2 for upgrading of the Ha Long-Mong Duong section under the National Highway No. 18 connecting Ha Long city and Cam Pha.

The Bien Cuong BOT JSC, the major investor of the Ha Long-Van Don Highway construction project, will also implement the upgrade of the Ha Long-Mong Duong section.

The project covers 31.25km, from Ha Tu ward of Ha Long city to Mong Duong ward in Cam Pha city, worth VND2 trillion (US$88 million). The width of the highway will be 20.5m.

Six intersections and a toll collecting station will be arranged alongside the route.

The four-lane Ha Long-Van Don Highway project covering 59.7km is designed to allow vehicles to travel at a speed of 100 kph, with a width of 24.5m. Total investment for the project is at VND12 trillion (US$528 million).

The two projects are expected to be completed by the end of 2017.
