The inauguration ceremony, which was held by the Vietnam Railways Corporation, saw the presence of Party Central Committee members Truong Quang Nghia, Minister of Transport, and Nguyen Phu Cuong, Secretary of the Dong Nai provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council.
The new bridge has three 75m spans and was expanded by 2.4 metres to allow for motorcycles and bicycles.
The new bridge replaces the old one which collapsed at noon on March 20 after a barge crashed into its pillar, disrupting railway services on the North-South railway line.
The Government allocated nearly VND300 billion (US$13 million) for the urgent construction work on the bridge.
Initially, the project was scheduled to be completed by July 15, but the investor and builder made efforts to finish it earlier.
The old bridge was built more than 113 years ago and was used for both trains and vehicles.
