Speaking at the ceremony, the head of the Caodaism Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, Nguyen Dac Tuan, spoke highly of the achievements gained by the church over the past six decades.

During the 2011-2016 period, the church organised the religion’s ceremonial activities, constructed new parishes and places of worship and encouraged its followers to take part in social and charitable activities as well as preserve family and religious traditions.

He asked Cao Dai dignitaries and followers to continue following the Party’s policies and the State’s laws, actively participate in social activities, and boost business and production.

At the fifth congress, the church reviewed its operations over the past five years and discussed programmes for the next five.

The Cao Dai Missionary Church, with nearly 50,000 followers, has 63 parishes and numerous places of worship nationwide.

Founded in the early 1920s in Vietnam, Caodaism was both deeply influenced by ancient Oriental culture and open to Western civilisation.
