Speaking at the closing ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Lao People Revolutionary Youth Union (LPRYU) Khampha Phimasone said that through various activities held in Laos’ three provinces of Savannakhet, Champasak and Salavane, the meeting contributed to strengthening and consolidating special friendship, solidarity and comprehensive co-operation between the two countries.

He stressed that the Vietnam – Laos traditional friendship, founded by Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Kaysone Phomvihane and nurtured by successive generations of leaders and people of the two countries, is a treasured common asset of the two Parties and nations.

He reviewed the time-honoured tradition, solidarity and mutual support between the LPRYU and the Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, expressing his hope that young people from the two countries would continue nurturing everlasting Vietnam – Laos ties.

For his part, Secretary of the HCYU Central Committee Nguyen Long Hai conveyed his thanks to the sentiment and support of the Lao Party and State leaders as well as the LPRYU to the Vietnamese delegation during the meeting.

Activities held during the meeting helped the Vietnamese delegate learn more about the LPRYU’s bigger role in encouraging the youth to increase their role in national construction and in the building of a brighter future of Vietnam – Laos relations.

During their stay in Laos, the Vietnamese youth members also had a chance to visit the host country’s historical sites, natural landscapes and socio-economic facilities, thus helping them gain a deeper understanding of Lao traditional culture.
