The exchange programme, sponsored by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is held in turn between Vietnam and Thailand to provide helpful activities for youths from both countries every summer.

Speaking at the event, Wanthanee Viputwongsakul, Chargé d'affaires at the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi, said that the programme has provided a good opportunity for outstanding youngsters from Vietnam and Thailand to exchange knowledge and learn more about the life and culture in their neighbouring country, while contributing to strengthening the mutual understanding between the two peoples.

Participants brought to the opening ceremony art performances highlighting their national cultural features.

The Vietnamese youth impressed their Thai friends with a Quan Ho (love duet singing) performance and a song entitled ‘Hay Den Voi Con Nguoi Viet Nam Toi’ (Come to visit our Vietnam). Meanwhile, dressed in traditional costumes, Thai students brought to the stage dances featuring their cultural diversity

Under the programme, the participants will pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum, and visit the Temple of Literature in Hanoi and traditional craft villages in northern provinces.
