The project will be deployed in 194 hamlets and villages where ethnic minority groups of low population density live in 93 communes of 37 districts in Cao Bang, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Kon Tum provinces.

Accordingly, the targeted hamlets and villages will be supported to upgrade their infrastructure system, boost production activities, preserve and promote their traditional culture as well as improve the spiritual life of local residents.

The project is also designed to enhance human resource training, consolidate the political system at a grassroots level, and step up the implementation of current medical and educational policies in the localities.

Efforts will be made to reduce the poverty rate among ethnic minority households there by 7-8% a year

The project has also targeted to have 100% of hamlets and villages facilitated with concrete bridges and roads; and 100% of households supported in their production activities.

The project aims to develop and lift the position of lowly populated ethnic minority groups, reduce poverty, improve the livelihoods of people, and narrow the development gap between the targeting groups and others, thus contributing to fostering the overall development of the country while strengthening the great national solidarity bloc.
