The State leader said promoting intellectuals and talented people was one of the State’s top priorities in developing the nation’s human resources while commending the contributions of professors over the last 30 years of reform.

He noted that aside from the nation’s significant achievements, Vietnam is still facing major issues that need addressing in order to bring the country forward, adding that the fourth industrial revolution is presenting both opportunities and challenges to Vietnam.

The president urged new professors and associate professors to dedicate their talent and effort to advising the Party and State on policies aimed at continuing to renew the growth model while enhancing the quality of growth, productivity and competitiveness.

Earlier in the morning, a ceremony was held at the National Convention Centre to award certification to 65 new professors and 638 associate professors.
