Heineken Vietnam has been named as one of 100 enterprises that employ a conducive business approach to promoting corporate sustainability.

Heineken is honoured for its commitment to sustainability.
Heineken is honoured for its commitment to sustainability.

The list was announced by the Vietnam Chamber of Industry and Commerce on November 8.

Leo Evers, managing director of Heineken Vietnam said the company was both delighted and proud to be recognised for its commitment to sustainability.

The honour was a great encouragement to the company’s leadership and employees who are deeply committed to sustainability in Vietnam, added Evers.

He emphasised that Heineken aims to not only become the best brewer in Vietnam but also the most sustainable brewer in the country.

Evers stated that the honour recognised the company’s continued investment to improve water and energy efficiency, and pursuit of biomass and other renewable-energy solutions over short-term cheaper non-renewable ones.

Those that made the list were selected based on a composite index known as the corporate sustainability index (CSI) comprising 151 qualitative criteria in accordance with international practices and adjusted to conditions in Vietnam.
