According to the third quarter Nielsen report, Vietnam’s consumer confidence index registered 107 points.

Job stability was the top life priority for Vietnamese people in the quarter, followed by health and work-life balance.

The ranking shows the confidence of Vietnamese consumers in regards to economic stability in the country, said Nielsen Vietnam Director General Nguyen Huong Quynh.

The survey also indicated that Southeast Asian consumers are among the world’s most confident, with 115 points, up two from the previous quarter.

Southeast Asia was also the region with the highest rate of savings — around 70%, compared to the global average of 52%.

Vietnamese people are the most careful spenders in the world, with 78% surveyed choosing to save their money.
