Various activities mark Vietnamese Teachers’ Day

NDO—A wide variety of activities were held in numerous provinces and cities around the country on November 16 to celebrate the 34th Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982-2016).

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee held a ceremony to mark Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, honouring teachers who greatly contributed to the cause of raising the younger generation.

In the recent 2015-2016 school year, thanks to the efforts of teachers, the city has become the leading unit in the country in fundamentally and comprehensively renewing education and training.

On the same day, Da Nang City’s Department of Education and Training held a ceremony to review the sector’s emulation movement for the 2015-2016 school year. At the event, authorised by the President and Prime Minister, the city’s leaders presented Labour Orders (second and third classes), the Government’s Emulation Flag, the PM’s certificates of merit and the Emulation Fight title to collectives and individuals who had made outstanding achievements in the cause of education and training.

Thai Binh’s provincial Department of Education and Training celebrated the 34th Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on November 16 and reviewed its emulation movements in the past year.

The 2015-2016 academic year is the second year the province’s sector has implemented fundamental and comprehensive innovation through numerous specific activities, such as rearranging the network of schools and improving the quality of care and education for children.

In addition, Lao Cai’s provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony to honour outstanding teachers in the province. At the event, two local collectives received Labour Orders, six other units and five teachers were presented with the PM’s certificates of merit; and nearly 200 teachers received certificates of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training.

Also on the occasion of the holiday, a meeting was held in the central province of Quang Nam to mark Vietnamese Teachers’ Day and to present certificates of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training to five collectives and 25 individuals who made outstanding achievements in the 2015-2016 academic year.

Dong Thap’s provincial Department of Education and Training also honoured 107 officials and teachers who made great efforts in overcoming all difficulties to devote to the cause of education and training in the province.
