Outstanding teachers honoured

NDO—The Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony in Hanoi on November 17 to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20) and to congratulate teachers and scientists in the People’s Public Security force who have been recognised as professors and associate professors in 2016.

The event was attended by Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security; and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

In 2016, the People’s Public Security force has had four teachers and scientists recognised as professors, 26 teachers and scientists recognised as associate professors and over 500 teachers receive outstanding teacher titles.

Addressing at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam asked units under the Ministry of Public Security and People’s Public Security universities and academies create advantageous conditions for teachers and scientists in their educational and scientific research work.

On the same day, the province of Hau Giang honoured 57 outstanding teachers and 53 outstanding students from the 2015-2016 school year.

Quang Binh has also held a ceremony to honour outstanding teachers during the 2015-2016 school year. At the ceremony, three teachers received the Prime Minister’s certificates, meanwhile 36 teachers received the title of “Provincial Emulation Fighter.” In addition, 469 teachers received “For the Cause of Education” medals.
