The delegates are exemplary models standing out from 63 provincial departments of education, as well as nearly 30 universities and colleges nationwide, who have devotedly worked for the development of Vietnam’s education sector.

Vice President Thinh conveyed her best wishes to the guests on the upcoming Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20), praising teaching as the noblest profession.

She also congratulated the education sector in general for its achievements in realising the Party’s resolution on the fundamental and comprehensive reform of education, adding that the delegates at the event had significantly contributed to its implementation.

The Party and State attach top priority to educational sector, she stressed, as demonstrated by the fact that 20% of the State budget is allocated to the sector annually. However, she acknowledged some mountainous and remote areas haven’t received proper investment due to economic conditions; consequently, she called on teachers there to overcome difficulties to fulfil their duties.

She also reminded the guests that in addition to teaching knowledge to students, teachers also had heavy responsibility for nurturing the ethics, dignity and culture of students.
